Inter-house Athletics Carnival 2019

What a successful day our Inter-house Athletics carnival was for 2019. On Friday, May 17 on a beautiful autumns’ day, our four sporting houses of Bock, Penny and Gorlick and newly formed Mellefont were all competing for the March Past Trophy, Relay, Field Events, Ball Games and Overall Points Winner Shields for 2019.
It was an amazing turnout and all students who attended gave their “Branyan Best” through great effort, fantastic participation and noble sportsmanship. Ms Morris who has been the recorder for many years couldn’t believe how close last year’s competition was but most shields this year were won by one decisive sporting house.
A big thank you goes out to all staff who helped me out in the running of the day from setting up and packing up to being event officials and supervising students in house areas. Also the P&C did a great job keeping everyone happy with food and drinks across the day. I would also like to personally thank all family and friends who attended and showed their support to all our competitors. A special mention goes out to three dads; Noel Faulkner, Tony Kenzler and someone I couldn’t identify from the distance helping out our caretaker groundsman “Perry”, packing up and putting away all the bunting and shade structures.

Special thanks goes out to the ladies in the office and also Ms Morris for all her help in preparing the programs, folders, recording sheets, ribbons and results for me. I couldn’t run the day without her invaluable help.
